Peter Jordan is a consultant and researcher specialised in the curation and interpretation of travel trends, for diverse clients from inside and outside the tourism industry. With a background in industry education, as well as marketing and communications at various tourism industry associations, he has gained a panoramic view of global travel, including the influence of consumer trends on travel behaviour. Peter started his career in tourism trends in 2008, joining the Affiliate Members section of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Madrid. Writing for national and local tourism organisations, he authored reports on a range of topics including aviation and route development, youth travel, LGBT travel and technology in tourism. In 2012 he moved to Amsterdam to work for the World Youth, Student & Educational Travel Confederation, and the following year set up his own tourism research company based in Amsterdam, carrying out tourism trends analysis and business development for Eurail Group, Value Retail and various global tourism industry associations. Since 2014 Peter has been an international associate of TOPOSOPHY, based in Amsterdam and piloting the company’s research. During this period Peter has carried out a range of presentations on the sharing economy (in particular, those focused on meal sharing, tours and activities. He has also collaborated extensively in the company’s work on the regulatory aspects of the sharing economy.
