Fast-growing and far reaching, the sharing economy turned heads among investors, consumers and governments, not to mention consumers who have been able to benefit from access to an increasing array of P2P services throughout their journey. In this keynote presentation we will explore the development of the sharing economy to date, and discuss how it has evolved into a new economic system that has allowed individuals to compete alongside the giants of the global travel industry. While this has allowed destinations to offer a wider range of experiences to potential visitors, it is not without its controversies, so we will share Toposophy’s insights on the challenges and solutions to this rapidly-changing system.
